Plant genetic resources protection for food and in situ agriculture

The main activities to preserve genetic resources in situ are:

  • researching and description of genetic resources,
  • development and enhancing monitoring systems, protecting genetic diversity and minimization of genetic erosion,
  • increasing the genetic resources value in Polish agricultural sector,
  • helping farmers facing natural disasters,
  • promoting in situ protection of crop plants’ wild relatives and edible plants species,
  • increasing public awareness of plant genetic resources.
