Summer pheasant’s-eye

Miłek letni – Summer pheasant’s-eye (Adonis aestivalis L.) – It is a one-year plant, which belongs to the Ranunculaceae family. These plants are native to Europe and they are endangered. In Poland they occur in the south and west parts of country, mainly accompanying winter crops, sometimes spring crops and root crops. It has a single or branched stem 20 to 40 cm high. Single flowers are placed on top of the stem, and their colour can be red, orange or even yellow. Adonis aestivali Time of flowering is from May to June. This plant is poisonous.
